The 21st century chaos

The 21st century chaos, days are getting shorter, minutes pass faster and seconds seem not to exist anymore. What happened? Where have the people lost the beauty of a moment, beauty of living? Why did everybody become similar to each other, and where did they lose their identity?
And what does identity, actually, mean?
We are born unique, different from all other children, equally blank and equally open for all new to come, we carry genes inside ourselves, some predetermined features, maybe talents… And we grow up not knowing what we are going to become..Later in life we dream about becoming someone… And we still do not know who we actually are.
Today’s life imposed us a fast way of living, taught us “the rules” of modern world, imposed the standards of conduct and “the formula” of success. In all newspapers and TV shows we can read and hear the recipes for becoming successful, businesslike, modern… As a result we get the clones, young people pulled into a ruthless machine which does not allow differences.
It is clear that we have to live with the times, that a young man must be educated and informed. But the question is: how to find your own identity at such a speed? And if we find it, how can we keep it? How can we find and preserve the real values, our own place in society?
The real values have changed these days that much that we can wonder if they really exist at all. Some other issues took the first place, and each individual who does not take care of their own identity will be lost in the general equality forever.
The fight for preserving our own values is severe and constant. It sounds strange, but we fight ourselves for something that belongs to us only. No one can take our identity from us, but we can lose it if we let ourselves merge with the majority in order to be accepted by it.
We try to be likable, nice and funny, but actually we are becoming empty dolls walking without an aim and a goal. And what will happen to us? We shall disappear although we shall still be present, we shall speak, but no one will hear us, we shall nod without understanding, listen to the things we do not want to know… And in one moment we shall realize that we have lost on our way, we disappeared, the time has passed while we are still standing smiling and talking, talking, talking, not realizing that our audience is just nodding and whistling a song without a rhythm, message or sense.
My pieces are fighting, keeping their inside treasure and their inside world, not letting anyone steal them, or take them away. The message to everyone is to search for their own identity. If you find it, keep it selfishly.
I gave the identity to my paintings, they differ and they are not ashamed of being different and special. I am not afraid of the path my paintings are going to choose, I am building their personality and recognition, which is exactly the message they are sending: fight for your own specificity in everything you see. Try to live through everything you come across. Revive and preserve your personal identity.
